Thank you for shopping and supporting the Correctional Arts Re-Entry (CARE) Inmate Art Project.
We are a social enterprise program that allows inmate artists to earn money from the sale of their art work to help them with a successful transition back to the community. We assist our clients with restoring their identity documents and finding a job. Having financial resources strengthens their chances for a successful reentry and stay out of prison.
This design was created by Mo Kalaikai who is one of our community artists. He was formerly incarcerated and has successfully stayed out of prison for the past 3 years. Because Mo was a model parolee, he was able to get an early release from his 5-year parole period after completing 3 years. He is currently working for Worknet as our resident artist.
Mo is a versatile, self taught artist who creates striking bold designs that reflect his Hawaiian heritage as well as creating true to life portraits. You can also see his blank card designs on our website under the Mo Kalaikai Collection.
