Aloha, my name is Rebecca 3985, born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. My mom taught me to paint t-shirts at an early age and helped me open my own little shop when I was 15. I lost my mom in 2004 and buried myself in a downward spiral of drugs that eventually brought me to Women’s Community Correction Center (WCCC). Thanks to programs such as CARE Project I have been able to better myself and use these walls of WCCC as a place of healing. Part of the proceeds from the purchase of my artwork will go to the WorkNet CARE Project that helps artists with transition from prison back to the community.
